For the last two years I have been studying a Bachelor of Tourism and Business Management at TAFE, and now I am working at the Royal Society for the Blind preparing fact sheets for blind and vision impaired people on travel. In order to study successfully it is important to make sure that you ask for assistance early, so that your institutions can make sure that they can meet your needs adequately. Things like having information in Braille, etc. I’m also a member of the Australasian Network of Students with Disabilities, and this is a group made up of students who want to try and make their experience at tertiary study level much more supportive.
