SPORT 1
Sport is for everyone. If you want to play with your friends, or to play socially, or to try hard and play in a high level competition, you need to know how to access your choice of sport.
There are disability sporting organisations, and disability specific competitions catering for people with a disability. For example, we have wheelchair sports, Blind Sporting Council, Deaf Sports, Push and Power Sports and SASRAPID to name a few. But you can also access sport through relevant state sporting associations, community groups and recreation centres. The aim of the sport associations and clubs is to assist people with disabilities to try and compete in settings relevant to the individual’s needs. Let people know you want to participate and make it happen. Sport and recreational activities are there for everyone.
